From July 6th – September 30th, the Affiliated Chambers of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce held their Shop Local 86 Campaign. This initiative was created to encourage individuals to intentionally support our local establishments for 86 days, which mirrored the time in which “non-essential” businesses were required to close their doors from March 25th – June 19th. As the months have progressed, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce has continued to stress the importance of supporting our local establishments.
As the month of February quickly approaches, and love is in the air, the Affiliated Chambers of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce felt it was the perfect time to refocus their efforts resulting in the creation of the Love Local Campaign! The initiative will take place from Monday, February 1st – Sunday, February 28th and features a “Love Local” Guide which offers a variety of ways in which community members can show their appreciation and support for their favorite shops, restaurants, and services throughout the Lehigh Valley. Suggestions range from purchasing goods from local businesses to highlighting them via social media and more.
Participants are encouraged to share their experiences from the list of recommendations by using the hashtag #LoveLocal. Reminders of the suggested ways to support and participants’ shared posts will be featured on the Love Local Facebook Event Page, in the Love Local Facebook Group, and on the Affiliated Chambers’ Instagram and LinkedIn pages. Each council of the Affiliated Chambers of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce will also share reminders on their respective Facebook pages
