ALLENTOWN, PA – The show must go on! Bulldogs dressed in their finest will be strutting on the runway outdoors, along the Waterfront (following CDC recommendations) at 5 North Front Street in Allentown on April 25, 1-3 pm (Rain date, May 2) in the Annual America On Wheels Museum’s Bulldog Beauty Contest. The Contest will be judged by Jaccii Farris, WFMZ Channel 16, Bill White of the Morning Call and Geoff Brace, Lehigh County Chair of Board of Commissioners. Bob Martin will be Master of Ceremony. Outdoor event is supported by Mack Trucks.
To register your Bulldog Beauty, download the registration form from the museum’s website at www.AmericaOnWheels.org, click on events, then scroll down to Bulldog Beauty Contest. Print the form, and follow the directions on there. Or, call the museum at 610-432-4200 ext. 10. Thirty dogs will be permitted to appear in person at the Museum; the rest will be on display via Virtual Videos. Submit your 15-30 second video to America On Wheels Museum Facebook Page. All videos to be submitted by April 20th. The past year has certainly changed many lives and businesses, but despite the challenges our Bulldog Beauty Contest makes for a fun time for all during the pandemic, states Linda Merkel, Museum Executive Director. Social functions and activities remain very important.
There is no fee to enter the contest, but tax-deductible donations are appreciated and will support Museum Operations during this challenging time of COVID-19.
In keeping with the outdoor scenario, the theme this year for Bulldogs will be swimsuits and beach attire. Admission includes the outdoor Bulldog Beauty Contest as well as touring the Museum: Adults $12, seniors $10 and children 12 and under are FREE. Visit www.americaonwheels.org for Museum information.
