Parkland School District Appoints Dr. Michelle Minotti as Assistant Superintendent

(Allentown) – On Tuesday, March 23, 2021, the Parkland Board of School Directors appointed Dr. Michelle Minotti as Assistant Superintendent, which will be effective July 1, 2021, at the start of the new fiscal year. Dr. Minotti is currently serving as Principal at Springhouse Middle School and will replace Tracy Smith who will retire this spring.

Dr. Michelle Minotti has served as the Principal at Springhouse Middle School since 2006. Prior to her leadership role at Springhouse, she served for three years each as Assistant Principal at Springhouse Middle School and Parkland High School. She also taught English at Saucon Valley High School before coming to Parkland in 2000.

Superintendent Richard T. Sniscak remarked, “Dr. Minotti has done an outstanding job running the daily operations at one of our largest schools for the last 15 years. She is a consummate team player and relationship builder and demonstrates a profound dedication to students, parents and the community at large. She is a strong communicator, enthusiastic leader and a dedicated employee who possesses the relevant work experience as well as the educational background that make her a wonderful match for this role.”

Dr. Michelle Minotti stated, “I am honored to continue serving the Parkland School District in this new opportunity. I look forward to building stronger connections with our Parkland Family to inspire all students to reach their fullest potential. I’d like to thank the Parkland School Board of Directors and Mr. Sniscak for their guidance and support over the years. We have a terrific team at Parkland and I’m excited to work together in this new capacity.”

Dr. Minotti will assist the Superintendent, School Board and Administrative Staff to establish and carry out district goals and initiatives, ensure the oversight of district policies and procedures, supervise and support District staff, evaluate resources and formulate long-range plans. Dr. Minotti will oversee and coordinate with the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development to support District technology integration and participate in curriculum development activities.

Michelle serves as a dedicated member of the Parkland CARES Food Pantry Board. She and her husband Bob have three daughters; Talia (15), Liana (12), and Zara (9). She is an Institute for Educational Leadership Fellow, an adjunct professor, and a Challenge 5 United Way Committee Member. She has a passion for community and is proud of initiating the Parkland Parent University series of parent workshops and for establishing.

R.E.A.C.H., which provides food, clothing, and school supply assistance pantries on-site at Parkland Schools with the goal of enhancing all student’s health, happiness, and success.
