Good Shepherd and Northampton Community College to Host Summer 2021 Certified Nursing Assistant Training

ALLENTOWN, PA — Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network is partnering with Northampton Community College to offer a five-week certified nursing assistant (CNA) training program. This specialized program will prepare participants to sit for the nurse aide exam.

Training kicks off July 12, 2021. It is free for participants and is a paid training. Participants must be at least 18 years old.

After completing training, Good Shepherd hires trainees for permanent CNA positions at one of two long-term care locations:

  • Good Shepherd Home – Bethlehem, 2855 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem
  • Good Shepherd Home – Raker Center, 601 St. John Street, Allentown

CNA CLASS AND CLINICAL DATES

Classes are Monday through Friday (July 12-23, 2021) from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Northampton Community College Fowler Center, 511 E. 3rd Street, Bethlehem.

Following classes, clinical training will be July 26, 2021, through August 4, 2021, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Clinicals will take place at either Good Shepherd Home – Bethlehem or Good Shepherd Home – Raker Center.

Good Shepherd and NCC have partnered on this training program for several years. Program trainees have advanced on to CNA positions at various long-term care, long-term acute care and inpatient rehabilitation locations within Good Shepherd’s network.
