The Arbor Day Foundation’s Community Tree Recovery Campaign to Distribute Free Trees to City of Easton Residents in June

Arbor Day Foundation Program Helps Rebuild and Beautify Communities One Tree at a Time.

Easton, PA – May 18, 2021 – The Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree Recovery Campaign will host a Free Tree Giveaway Event for city residents on Saturday, June 5 from 9 am – 1 pm (rain or shine) at the City Recycling Center at 500 Bushkill Drive. A variety of native and non-native trees in five-gallon pots will be available to choose from. All trees are hardy varieties for the area and are noninvasive types. Tree varieties are limited and are available on a first-come basis.

“The coronavirus pandemic has highlighted more than ever the important role that trees and green space play in our daily lives,” said Dan Lambe, president, Arbor Day Foundation. “By planting new trees we help to ensure that Easton community members will continue to enjoy the benefits that trees provide, from cleaning our air and water, to bolstering our mental health.”

The Arbor Day Foundation’s Community Tree Recovery program, a national program underwritten by FedEx and Foundation members, aims to replace trees in communities affected by natural disasters throughout the United States. The program has held more than 1050 events, distributing more than 5.3 million trees since its inception.

Advance registration is required. Limit one tree per household. Trees are available only for city residents. (Residents of neighboring townships/boroughs with an Easton mailing addresses are not eligible.) A valid ID with a City of Easton home address is required to be shown when picking up a tree at the event. Register on the city’s web site here: https://bit.ly/EastonTreeGiveaway.
