Lamont McClure and the Director of Corrections, James Kostura, announce that the Northampton County Prison’s (NCP) healthcare provider, Prime Care Medical, has made arrangements with the Pennsylvania Department of Health to hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for inmates and staff members on Wednesday, June 9th. NCP anticipates receiving the J&J vaccine although that could change depending on availability. Prime Care Medical staff will administer the shots.

This is the second vaccination clinic held at NCP. On May 12th, PrimeCare Medical vaccinated 130 people including 118 inmates and six staff members.

“Our Department of Corrections has done a terrific job using facemasks and expanded cleaning methods to reduce the risk of infection within the facility,” says Lamont McClure. “Vaccinations will help make it possible to reopen educational and recreational programing as well as our work release program.”

The vaccinations are not compulsory and are only being provided to those who request them.
