The classical, meets hip-hop group will perform on the Wind Creek Steel Stage
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – ArtsQuest is proud to welcome Black Violin to the Wind Creek Steel Stage on Sunday, August 15, the closing night of Musikfest. Tickets will go on sale beginning Tuesday, June 8 for ArtsQuest Members and Friday, June 11 at 10 a.m. to the public at musikfest.org.
The group, led by duo Wil Baptiste and Kev Marcus, performs a fusion of classical music and hip-hop, occupying a musical lane that’s entirely their own. Black Violin has steadily built a devoted following and a diverse touring base. Individually and together, members have worked with the likes of Alessia Cara, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne. They have also performed two sold-out shows at the Kennedy Center with the National Symphony Orchestra commemorating the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s death.
Black Violin’s work extends far beyond the stage, reaching deep into urban communities with numerous free performances for students and hands-on engagement with youth symphonies and community centers.
Musikfest 2021 dates are Aug. 6-15, with a special preview night on Aug. 5. Black Violin completes the Wind Creek Steel Stage lineup along with previously announced artists Darius Rucker, Sam Hunt, Zedd, KT Tunstall, Phillip Phillips, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Shinedown, Jimmie Allen, Colin Hay Band and The Wood Brothers. For more information, visit musikfest.org. Additional details on Musikfest offerings will be announced throughout the summer.
