Northampton County – Distribution of American Rescue Plan funds

Lamont McClure announces that, at their June 18th meeting, County Council passed Resolution No. 71-2021 to distribute approximately $30 million in funds from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

“My administration and County Council intend to spend these funds in a quick and efficient manner, concentrating on getting financial relief to those most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Lamont McClure. “While infection rates are dropping, the economic fallout of the virus continues and we want to help as many of our residents as possible to hasten the recovery.”

Allocation of funds:

· $15 million for small business grants with assistance from the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce

· $5 million for non-profit grants

· $1 million for Hotel Tax grants

· $1 million for Grow NorCo grants

· $1 million for Broadband needs for Northampton County K-12 schools

· $1 million for Emergency Medical Services Grants

· Approximately $6 million for Personal Protective Equipment, Vaccination efforts, Testing and Hazard Pay
