The Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce, a proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, is thrilled to host the annual Kazoo Parade on Saturday, July 3rd from 9:30 AM – 12 PM!

This family-friendly event is the perfect way to kick off your 4th of July celebration! From 9:30 AM – 10 AM, attendees can gather at Nazareth Area High School to receive their kazoos prior to the parade beginning at 10 AM. The parade will walk from Nazareth Area High School to Veterans Memorial Square where a Patriotic Program will be held at 11 AM. Mon & Mel’s Sweet Scoops Ice Cream Truck will be on the scene serving up cool treats that will be available for purchase at Veterans Memorial Square. Rebecca Pieper, owner of The Musik Makers, will be performing during the program.

While this event has always focused on honoring all local veterans, one veteran has been selected as the Grand Marshal of the parade. With the difficulties of the past year, the 2021 event committee has decided to make honoring all local veterans the focus of this year’s celebration. All veterans who are in attendance for the parade will have the opportunity to lead the procession from the high school to the square. Veterans who are unable to join in the parade will also have an opportunity to be honored during the Patriotic Program outside Borough Council Chambers.

Jessica O’Donnell, EVP of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, said, “We are so excited to be starting the 4th of July holiday with this community celebration! It is sure to be a fun-filled, festive morning. We look forward to honoring our local veterans and seeing everyone in their red, white, and blue as the sounds of the kazoos fill the streets of the Borough of Nazareth!”

Lauren Bertucci, Manager of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, commented, “The Kazoo Parade is a Nazareth tradition that is loved by many and we are so grateful to be able to bring the event back this year. It is a wonderful opportunity to recognize our local veterans while also celebrating the 4th of July holiday as a community. We hope that you can join in on the festivities!”

Kody Unangst, Owner of Nazareth Army & Navy Store, said, “Nazareth Army & Navy is excited to reignite our community involvement with the sponsorship of the Annual Kazoo Parade! Our country is and will always be a beacon of hope and freedom. Let’s come together and celebrate the freedoms made possible by our current service members and veterans! Happy Independence Day, America!”
