Allentown School District Foundation Announces

6th Annual HIGH NOTES Gala

April 2, 2016 at Miller Symphony Hall

(January 14, 2016, Allentown, PA) The Allentown School District Foundation will host their 6th Annual HIGH NOTES Gala – the Foundation’s signature event – on Saturday, April 2, at Miller Symphony Hall.

Last year, nearly 4,000 Allentown School District students were able to participate in innovative enrichment programs that, without the support of donors to the Allentown School District Foundation (ASDF), would not have been possible.  If you could help even more students participate, wouldn’t you want to?  The good news is you can.

Each year, the ASDF hosts the HIGH NOTES Gala, which sustains the Foundation’s mission and helps make possible ASDF initiatives such as:

  • Teacher Innovation Grants: This program awards grants to ASD teachers and staff to create innovative learning opportunities in the classroom.
  • An Allentown Adventure: This program teaches students local history and graphic arts.
  • ASD Science Fair: This program creates excitement about learning and exploring science.
  • Lines and Spaces Summer Music Camp: This program gives all ASD instrumental music students an enriching summer opportunity.
  • National History Day: This program enables students to research and create an informative presentation about an aspect of history that interests them.
  • ASD Showcase of Academic Excellence: This event allows hundreds of Allentown students from all schools to be recognized in May for their academic success. Students’ displays at Symphony Hall reveal student innovation and ingenuity as revealed in their projects, videos, websites and more.

HIGH NOTES Gala 2016, a spring musical revue, will delight the audience with a special “sneak peek” of each spring musical from Allentown School District high schools and middle schools.  The evening’s

theme is “We Will Rock You” and students intend to do just that as they perform classic songs from the ‘80s. The collaborative performance includes excerpts from each of six high school and middle school spring musicals with students joining together to open and close the show.

  • See excerpts from many of your favorite shows, including The Producers, West Side Story, Lion King Jr., Godspell Jr., Once on This Island Jr., and Annie Jr. Proceeds from the gala support art, history, physical fitness, social studies, sports, music and STEM programs for Allentown School District students.
  • Gala tickets are $160 per guest and include appetizers, dinner catered by Sodexho and the performance, which concludes after 9:30 p.m. Performance only tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Purchase performance only tickets through the box office at Miller Symphony Hall (www.millersymphonyhall.org).  Please contact Vicki Newhard to purchase Gala tickets – newhardv@allentownsd.org , 484-765-4121
  • Sponsorships are available and range from program advertising, table purchase or a combination of support ranging from baritone, tenor, alto, soprano and presenting sponsorships. This is a great way to connect with ASD kids, and show business and individual support for the district at a high level of visibility. Please contact Susan Williams to purchase Gala sponsorships – williamssu@allentownsd.org , 484-765-4093
