After having to shift last minute in 2020 to a “drive through” tree lighting due to capacity mandates, the Southern Lehigh Chamber & Coopersburg Fire Department are thrilled to bring back the annual tree lighting with more bells and whistles than ever! This event is a partnership between the Coopersburg Fire Company and the Southern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds benefit the fire company’s life-saving equipment and the Chamber’s local initiatives to support businesses and community organizations in the greater Coopersburg area.

On Saturday November 27, 2021 come to East State Street between the Fire Company (13 S Main St) and Borough Hall (5 N Main St) from 6-8pm for an evening of family-fun. The event itself is free to attend. There will be an ice sculptor on-site thanks to Hometown Pet Center who are sponsoring this fun aspect of the event. There will be hayrides by Hausman’s Fruit Farms for a small fee of $5 for adults, $3 for kids and 3 and under ride free. A few craft vendors will be on site as well as local businesses handing out toys, craft kits, and facilitating kids activities.

Lerch Photo will be taking pictures of kids with Santa Claus. There will be a suggested donation of $2 towards the Southern Lehigh Chamber’s newly formed Scholarship Fund that will go to Southern Lehigh School District students pursuing further education upon high school graduation. A DJ will be on-site playing holiday tunes. The Coopersburg Fire Company will be facilitating a basket raffle and selling food for attendees. Olaf and Elsa will be joining us for a fun evening as well!

At 7:45pm the Chamber and Fire Department will begin their program thanking sponsors and supporters. At 8pm Coopersburg Mayor Hovis will lead the audience in the tree lighting countdown!

Executive Vice President of Affiliated Chambers Jessica O’Donnell shares “We did what we had to last year and made the best with a drive-through celebration but we’re more than thrilled to be back in action with our friends at the Coopersburg Fire Company. It’s so meaningful to bring our community together during this holiday season to celebrate but also raise money to support the volunteer firefighters and bring awareness to our business community.”

Proceeds from this event go towards the Coopersburg Fire Department and other local initiatives.
