[Lehigh Valley, PA] November 30, 2021 – Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley and BSI Corporate Benefits have teamed up to host a “Home for the Holidays” Gingerbread House Challenge.
The competition, launching Wednesday, December 1, 2021, aims to raise funds to support Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build simple, decent homes for hardworking, low-income families in the Lehigh Valley. To date, Habitat Lehigh Valley has built 126 homes for local families.
“With the holiday season right around the corner and winter quickly approaching, the understanding of home holds much more meaning. Home is where we stay warm and dry from the outside elements, where decorating with family becomes tradition and where meals are shared around the kitchen table,” said Jessica Elliott, Executive Director of Habitat Lehigh Valley. Habitat for Humanity exists so every person has the opportunity to feel the stability that homeownership brings. As a community, we can all bring hope and assist in being part of the affordable housing solution. This contest is a meaningful and fun way to be a part of helping hardworking, local families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.”
Calling all bakers, artists, children, seniors, and everyone in-between! Join BSI Corporate Benefits and Habitat Lehigh Valley for the “Home for the Holidays Gingerbread House Challenge!” All funds raised empower local families to access safe, healthy, and stable housing.
Categories include Business/Group,Individual, and Youth as well as a People’s Choice winner. Top fundraisers in each category will be awarded prizes along with a coveted Gingerbread Challenge trophy! The People’s Choice winner will be crowned based on “likes” tallied through Habitat Lehigh Valley’s Facebook page.

Upload photos of your Gingerbread House Challenge creation to the fundraising page, set your fundraising goal, and share your creation on social media to start the challenge!
Participants are then encouraged to challenge a friend, family member, or organization to join in on the fun by creating and entering their own gingerbread house in the competition! BSI Corporate Benefits will be matching all donations made, up to $50,000.
