The Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce, a proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, is gearing up for a fun-filled holiday weekend in the Borough of Nazareth held in partnership with Dan’s Camera City. “We cannot wait for the Tree Lighting Ceremony and Christmas in Nazareth”, commented Jessica O’Donnell, EVP of Affiliated Chambers & the Northern Tier for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “These highly anticipated celebrations are loved by community members throughout the Nazareth Area. After having to adjust last year, we are thrilled to be back with the full-fledged events in 2021. Don’t miss your opportunity to be a part of these extra jolly festivities that will be sure to get you and your loved ones in the holiday spirit!

On Friday, December 10th, the Nazareth Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held in the Borough’s Center Circle at 7 PM. The evening will feature performances by All Things Brielle and the Nazareth Moravian Church’s Brass Choir & Friends, music by Reilly Entertainment Group, remarks from Elected Officials, holiday characters, a prayer from Pastor Derek of Nazareth Moravian Church, and, of course, a surprise visit from Santa Claus & Mrs. Claus! After the ceremony, attendees will have the chance to take their photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The celebration will include complimentary hot chocolate, hand warmers, and giveaways for the kids. A limited number of each is available and items will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis. Prior to the start of the ceremony, Nazareth Center for the Arts invites you to the opening reception of their Community Juried Art Exhibit from 5 PM – 7 PM.

The holidays are also about giving; therefore, attendees are being asked to bring either canned food or boxed tissues to the Tree Lighting Ceremony for the Nazareth Area Food Bank. This Pop-Up Food Drive is being held by BSA Troop 76 Nazareth as part of the Antonio Alessi Eagle Scout Project.

On Saturday, December 11th, Christmas in Nazareth will take place from 10 AM – 3 PM. With the Elf Trail, vendors, performances, ice carving, holiday characters, and more – there is something for the entire family! There will be no meter enforcement the day of the event. In addition, a shuttle, sponsored by Easton Coach Company, will drive attendees to five different stops throughout the Borough. Memorial Library of Nazareth & Vicinity, Moravian Historical Society, Nazareth Center for the Arts, Nazareth Moravian Church, Nazareth Economic Development Corporation, Nazareth YMCA, and Vigilance Hose Co. #1 will be hosting festive activities for guests to enjoy. A variety of student groups from the Nazareth Area School District will also perform throughout the day. For a full schedule of events, click here. The Pop-Up Food Drive for the Nazareth Area Food Bank will continue during this event. Attendees can bring their donations to BSA Troop 76’s booth located in the YMCA’s parking lot. While you’re there, be sure to visit The Chamber’s tent for giveaways for the kids! Stop by from 1 PM – 3 PM to see the ice carver sponsored by Lehigh Valley Health Network.

As guests make their way throughout the Borough, they also have the chance to win prizes from local businesses and organizations involved with this year’s Elf Trail presented in partnership with Truist. The 2021 passport has a record-breaking amount of engagement with 25 participants! The Elf Trail will take place from 11:30 AM – 3 PM. After getting every stop on their passport stamped, attendees can drop their completed passport through the mail slot of the Nazareth Area Chamber Office (18 S. Main St. Nazareth, PA 18064) to be entered to win. For more information and to download a passport, click here. Lastly, the Grand Prize Drawing for the Nazareth Area Chamber’s, Nazareth Economic Development Commission’s, & Nazareth Army & Navy’s Shop Small Sweepstakes will take place at 1 PM. “There are so many things to love about this event”, said Lauren Bertucci, Manager of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley of Chamber of Commerce. “One that stands out among the rest is that it truly is a community effort with all the different businesses and organizations participating to ensure that it is a fun-filled day for all. We encourage you to come out and join us, not only to get in the holiday spirit, but to also see everything that our participants have to offer!”

Mike Woodland, Nazareth Area Chamber Board Chair & Co-Owner of Dan’s Camera City, commented, “Christmas in Nazareth is a wonderful holiday event for the whole family. Dan’s is pleased to sponsor the festivities again as we bring people together during Friday evening’s Tree Lighting and Saturday’s events.
