Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center Announces 2022 Lehigh Valley Pride

Drag superstars Ra’Jah O’Hara and Alyssa Hunter, as well as nationally-known musicians Chastity Brown and Ryan Cassata, headline this year’s festival. 

ALLENTOWN, PA – Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center proudly announces that 2022 Lehigh Valley Pride, presented by glamazon, will take place on Sunday, August 21 from noon to 6 p.m., at the JCC of the Lehigh Valley (702 N. 22nd Street, Allentown, PA 18101).

Lehigh Valley Pride, entering its 29th year, has been a vibrant community event that celebrates LGBTQ+ arts and culture, while connecting thousands of community members to local resources. This year’s theme is “Be Loud! Be Proud!” 

Accessibility features will include ASL interpretation on stage, ADA restrooms, large-print Pride guides, the MARS Sober Social Space, reserved seating for older adults and people with disabilities, and reserved parking near the festival entrance.

“The monumental achievement of Lehigh Valley Pride’s 29th year is already so much to appreciate, and, looking forward to 2022 Lehigh Valley Pride, there are so many things to be excited about,” said Eric Yoak, major events manager at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. “This is the year to ‘Be Loud! Be Proud!’, and we as a community need that now more than ever.”

“We invite the community to join us this year at Lehigh Valley Pride,” added Bill McGlinn, interim executive director at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. “Be seen, be heard, and, standing together, we will make an unmistakable sound as we say, ‘Be Loud! Be Proud!’”

Headlining 2022 Lehigh Valley Pride are:

  • Ra’Jah O’Hara, drag superstar from RuPaul’s Drag Race (Season 11, All Stars 6)
  • Alyssa Hunter, drag superstar from RuPaul’s Drag Race (Season 14) and Miss Puerto Rico Continental 2016
  • Chastity Brown, soul/folk singer-songwriter and 2021 McKnight Artist Fellow
  • Ryan Cassata, award-winning singer-songwriter and LGBTQ+ activist

 

This year’s grand marshals are:

  • Ariel Torres, associate director, Lehigh University Pride Center
  • the Honorable Linda Vega, Magistrate District Judge, Lehigh County

Tickets will be $10 and sold at the door. Admission is free for kids 13 and under. Youth ages 14 to 21 can email Kim@BradburySullivanCenter.org for free tickets.
