Penn State Extension and the Pennsylvania Vegetable Growers Association Host a Twilight At-Market Workshop at Weaver’s Orchard

MORGANTOWN, PA – Commercial fruit and vegetable growers, market managers, agritourism business operators, and any farm manager or owner looking to network, are invited to attend the Twilight At-Market Workshop at Weaver’s Orchard on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. This workshop will run 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Weaver’s Orchard, 40 Fruit Lane, Morgantown PA, 19543.

The focus of the workshop is business success factors. During a farm tour with market manager, Anita Harrison, and owner, Ed Weaver, we will discuss several business aspects of the orchard and farm market including pricing products for profit in turbulent times, staffing challenges, and creating dazzling market displays. We will also learn from owners and staff about the farm’s humble beginnings up to its current status.

The roots of Weaver’s Orchard Inc. grow deep in our local southeastern Pennsylvania community since the 1930s. In 2022, Weaver’s Orchard celebrates their 90th year in business, with Ed Weaver at the helm since the ’90s. Weaver’s Orchard has a pick-your-own fruit operation, a wholesale division, and a recently expanded farm market. Weaver’s Orchard also hosts family-friendly agriculture experiences and events on the farm. Ed Weaver and several family members currently run the farm. Their vision is to “grow our fruit with your health in mind.”

This evening workshop is being offered free of charge. Light refreshments will be available. To register visit: https://extension.psu.edu/twilight-at-market-weavers-orchard.
