Valley Youth House broke a record on funds raised during the 37th annual John E. Walson, Jr. Memorial Golf & Pickleball Tournament presented by Service Electric Cable TV & Communications.

BETHLEHEM, PA (7/8/22) – Valley Youth House would like to thank everyone who supported the 37th annual John E. Walson, Jr. Memorial Golf & Pickleball Tournament, presented by Service Electric Cable TV & Communications. With the generosity of their supporters, Valley Youth House was able to raise $357,547 to support the Agency’s critical programs that serve vulnerable youth and families in our community. The tournament has now raised over $3 million for the organization since the event’s inception.

This year’s tournament was chaired by John T. Yurconic, CEO, The Yurconic Agency.

“I was honored to serve as the chairperson of the Valley Youth House Golf and Pickleball tournament this year. The community came together in an amazing way to provide record support for this year’s event. The funds raised will further the mission of Valley Youth House in helping young people and their families in times of need,” said Yurconic.

This event broke the record for the most ever raised at this tournament and in the history of Valley Youth House special events. For the first time, a pickleball tournament was added to the event, with CAI as the title sponsor.

Funding raised during special events, such as the John E. Walson, Jr. Memorial Golf & Pickleball Tournament, allow Valley Youth House to provide youth and families in our community access to safe housing, support, trauma therapy/counseling, life skills training, and other services that will allow them to live happy and independent lives.

“We appreciate the strong support from our business community for the programs of Valley Youth House. Proceeds from our annual golf tournament support young people in our area who have faced many challenges in their lives and are working hard to complete their education, get a job and support themselves as they move into adulthood. We thank the many companies and individuals who partner with us to support these young people and their families,” said Tom Harrington, President & Executive Director of Valley Youth House.

Next year’s tournament is scheduled for Monday, June 5, 2023 at Lehigh Country Club. To learn more about the impact that this event will have on the lives of so many please visit ValleyYouthHouse.org/Programs.
