The Liberty High School Girls Volleyball team announced that it has made a donation in the amount of $3,000 to Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley.

Liberty High School in Bethlehem, PA recently held a “Pink Out“  Volleyball match against Lehigh Valley rival Nazareth Blue Eagles.   The event included a basket raffle with over 50 baskets and donations from various businesses throughout the Lehigh Valley.  Sponsors included Pat’s Pizza & Bistro in Bethlehem, Univest Bank, and Paranee Properties.  With proceeds from the event, the Liberty Hurricanes were able to donate generously to help those fighting Cancer.

Liberty HS Girls Volleyball Head Coach Connor Swigart said, “The young women on the Liberty volleyball team encompass the values of hard work and dedication on and off the court.  This year’s event was bigger than ever, with so much community support. We’re thankful for the opportunity to give back and make a difference”.

Amanda Buss, Executive Director of Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley, was in attendance during the event.  “Because of your generosity, we are able to offer psychosocial support services as an integral part of comprehensive cancer care. Our support groups, educational programs, and healthy activities help participants regain control in managing their health, reduce stress and isolation, and restore a sense of hope for an improved quality of life during treatment and in survivorship”, said Buss.
