Bethlehem’s Small Business Saturday to hit Pre-Pandemic Numbers for First Time Since 2019

Holiday Cocktail Trails Show Things are Back to Normal in the Christmas City

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (November 23, 2022) – Downtown Bethlehem expects Small Business Saturday to show pre-pandemic level success this year. The city views the high turnout for its annual Holiday Cocktail Trails as a sign that people feel safe enough to gather again. Downtown Bethlehem Association (DBA) Manager Kelly Smith said, “This is the first year since Covid-19 hit the nation that Bethlehem’s Holiday Cocktail Trails felt normal, which is a great indicator for strong numbers this Small Business Saturday.” Bethlehem is reporting full hotels, busy restaurants and shops, and its historic Colonial and Industrial areas are bustling again. Smith added, “This is so important for our entire community and it’s finally come full circle. People who have missed the events the past couple years are returning, plus there’s an influx of newcomers just discovering our town.”

#SelfieWithanElfie Contest
Along with the Small Business Saturday deals, shoppers should be on the lookout for some mischievous little elves who can help them win a $200 downtown shopping gift certificate. Downtown Bethlehem Association merchants have hidden elves in their shops. When you find one, take a selfie with it and upload it to a Heart of Bethlehem social media page with the hashtags #shopsmall and #selfiewithanelfie for a chance to win.

12 Days of Giveaways
Local businesses will also participate in a series of giveaways to build on Small Business Saturday and encourage local shopping. Bethlehem’s annual 12 Days of Giveaways begins on December 1. Gifts include a hotel stay, jewelry, baskets of gourmet food, and more. There is no purchase necessary to win and signing up is easy at VisitHistoricBethlehem.com. Check the Heart of Bethlehem Facebook page and website daily for winners.
