The Western Lehigh Chamber of the Commerce Recognizes its Beneficiaries of the Sophie Gerhard and Edwin Adamczak Community Grant

The Western Lehigh Chamber of Commerce, regional chamber of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce (GLVCC), gave two (2) Community Grants in memory of Sophie Gerhard and Edwin Adamczak, two long serving board members who passed away in recent years.

This grant is given to non- profit organizations who improve the lives of people living in South Whitehall Township, Upper Macungie Township and Wescosville area. They aim to work towards the betterment of the community.

On November 9, at the East Penn & Western Lehigh Influencer Luncheon, the Western Lehigh Chamber presented the Western Lehigh Chamber of Commerce Sophie Gerhard and Edwin Adamczak Community Grant to Animal Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley for pet food to handle the high demands each month. John Hemak, chair of the Western Lehigh Grant Committee shares his support, “The Western Lehigh Chamber proudly supports the Animal Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley by awarding them this Community Grant to further their mission of keeping companion animals in loving homes and preventing their surrender to the shelter system by supplying families with pet food in times of economic distress.  Many thanks go to Amy Kocis and her team of volunteers for providing a much-needed service to the greater Lehigh Valley!”

On December 7, at the Upper Macungie Fire Department, the Western Lehigh Chamber presented the Community Grant to the Upper Macungie Fire Department for a one-year subscription to Fire Rescue 1 Academy to obtain more training and certifications for their fire fighters. “Those that volunteer as first responders are nothing short of heroes who keep us all safe. The Western Lehigh Chamber is thrilled to provide some support to Upper Macungie Township Station 56 for the upgraded radios, which will improve communications between Fire Department Members, as well as with the 911 center. Our thanks goes out to Chief Matt Sadrovitz and the entire team for their important work in our community,” shares Joshua Clarkson, chair of the Western Lehigh Chamber board.
