Employees Donate Hundreds of Toys to Charity

Lehigh Valley, PA – December 15, 2022 – Service Electric employees are once again coming together to help the Greater Lehigh Valley community. This holiday season, children in the local area will receive toys and gifts through employee donations to the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Now in its 75th year, Toys for Tots has distributed more than 627 million toys to more than 281 million children since 1947.

In addition to collecting toys from employees and serving as a drop-off site for the public, Service Electric worked with Cumulus Media – 99.9 The Hawk radio station and the Marine Corps Reserve to run a toy drive at the Westgate Mall in November. The event brought in donations of more than 100 new, unwrapped toys for the charity.

“It’s important to support charities in the Greater Lehigh Valley,” said John M. Walson, President of Service Electric. “We see ourselves as more than just an Internet and cable provider – we are a family-owned company supporting and serving our community. If we have the opportunity to give a child a happy Christmas morning, we will certainly do what we can to ensure that happens. This is just one small way we can help to brighten the holidays for these kids.”

For the past six years, Service Electric has been working with Toys For Tots to collect gifts for local children. In addition to this project, the company also works with Diakon Adoption and Foster Care, Cay Galgon Life House and The Sanctuary at Haafsville to help support local families and protect animals during this holiday season.
