Historic Hotel Bethlehem announces film debut and dinner with movie directors, experience where film was shot

Bethlehem native Daniel Roebuck’s newest film premieres this weekend 

Bethlehem, PA (April 19, 2023) – Historic Hotel Bethlehem is giving film fans a chance to immerse themselves in a movie location and dine with directors. Director Daniel Roebuck, a Bethlehem native, and his daughter, co-director and co-writer Grace Roebuck, shot part of their new film, Lucky Louieat the historic hotel. “The hotel is like a character in the movie,” said Kelly Ronalds, Director of Room Sales and Guest Experience for the property. “This is the first time in the hotel’s 100 years that a movie has been filmed here. We had so much fun watching Danny, Grace and their team work in the lobby and in 1741 on The Terrace.”

Lucky Louie to premiere
Roebuck who is well known in the Lehigh Valley for his prolific acting career and his directing work on films like Getting Grace has a nonprofit film company called Channel of Peace which produces and promotes family and faith-based films. “My work focuses on advancing family, faith in God, and the values of love, forgiveness, good works and gratitude,” he said.

His latest film, Lucky Louie, which will debut this weekend, features a retired cop who teams up with four ex-convicts and a behavioral science student to solve a fifty-year-old bank robbery. The faith-based  mystery takes viewers on a wild ride as the group works to solve the crime of the century.

Lucky Louie will have a dual weekend premiere. The first is at the Roxy Theatre in Northampton County on April 22. The second is at the Banko Alehouse at SteelStacks on April 29.

Dine with the Directors package details
On April 29Historic Hotel Bethlehem will host Dine with the Directors as part of a special Lucky Louie premiere package. This getaway includes an overnight stay for two at Historic Hotel Bethlehem. Guests will enjoy dinner in 1741 on the Terrace with Daniel Roebuck and Grace Roebuck. The father-daughter team wrote, directed, and produced Lucky Louie.
