BETHLEHEM, PA – Take advantage of professional development workshops and short-term training opportunities at Northampton Community College (NCC) this spring and early summer to expand your expertise, explore new career paths and enrich your personal knowledge.

For those interested in discovering the ways diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices can transform their personal and professional growth, NCC is hosting a virtual workshop on “Making the Case for DEI Practices” on May 18 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Held on Zoom, this workshop will provide contextual understanding of DEI practices, their importance in today’s world, and how they can help challenge your mindset and mode of operation. If you’re seeking a career in a high-paying, in-demand field, NCC’s FREE 8-week Pathways to Manufacturing Program explores the many career paths available in modern manufacturing and teaches the skills necessary for entry-level positions in the field such as Lean Manufacturing, Blueprint Reading, Production, Automation, and more! Students will also earn the OSHA-10 certification as part of the program. NCC will hold info sessions to go over important information on May 24 and June 5 at 1 p.m., and June 22 at 10 a.m., in the Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. Third St., Bethlehem. For those looking to pursue a career in healthcare, NCC’s Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training program prepares participants with the skills needed to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) Competency Examination in as little as four weeks. As a CNA, you can work in a long-term care facility, hospital or other healthcare setting – an excellent way to start your career in healthcare with the potential of earnings of $15 or more per hour. Join NCC for a free, virtual information session on Wednesday, June 7, at 5 p.m., to learn more about the CNA program and its requirements. Attendance is strongly encouraged for those considering enrolling in the CNA program, which begins August 15. Finally, NCC’s Fab Lab is continuing to provide personal enrichment opportunities throughout the summer and is equipped with a woodshop, electronics lab, audio booth, metal working lab, 3D printing and a guitar-building program.
