“The Beat of Unity: 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop,Celebration Creates Lasting Change in Our Queen City”

Hip-hop is turning 50 years old. There are generations of children who have been influenced by the growing culture called Hip Hop. Anyone under 70 will be able to give their experience and a memory with hip-hop. Hip-hop is greater than music, it is a culture, that cannot be claimed by any one race but can bring us all together you’re sure about that.

On August 11th major cities will be coming together to celebrate the birth date of Hip hop. Here in Allentown we will be spending the day celebrating at Jordan park. We will be celebrating the many elements of hip-hop not just rap plus have some unique bonuses that Showcase the Lehigh valleys contribution to the culture.

Our Jordan park celebration well showcase showcase the best of hip-hop the valley has to offer. The day will have live performances from local artist, break dancers, graffiti artist, Hip-hop dancers, skateboarders, and the best DJ’s to in the to set the tone for the day. We will have 3 separate staging areas, the main stage the dance floor and the Youth Area to make day exciting for everyone in attendance.

The 50th anniversary will be kicked off with the fitness activities and the basketball tournament. There will be a number of tournaments that will increase excitement and allow attendees to be a part of the day. There will be a chess tournament Domino’s tournament spades tournament to go along with the basketball that will be played. The Youth field will be filled with activities for our children to feel like children. There will be games they can join, inflatable activities then can enjoy and other hip hop related contest.

This is cooperative capitalism as its greatest. Our vending and sponsorship opportunities allows for our youth entrepreneurs, small businesses and large corporations to all get involved.

Hip-hop at its best does 3 things provides hope, a great time, and an even greater story. The story that will be told about our 50th Celebration of Hip Hop, is one of united change. The tale of how our communities, businesses,and industries came together to creates change, enjoyed it’s diversity inspired by the music and culture of their youth.
