Via Receives $157,750 in Donations for EITC Scholarships Program

BETHLEHEM, PA – Via of the Lehigh Valley is happy to announce that it received $157,750 in EITC tax credit funds from 14 local businesses. These funds will provide scholarships to teens attending Camp Via and children attending Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten at Lehigh Children’s Academy.

The following businesses have donated through the PA EITC tax credit program: American Bank, $6,500; AmerisourceBergen Services, $10,000; Campbell, Rappold & Yurasits, $4,740; Capital Blue Cross,

$25,000; Embassy Bank, $35,000; Fidelity Bank, $3,500; Mid Penn Bank, $6,000; Philadelphia Indemnity,

$10,000; QNB, $2,500; The Yurconic Agency, $15,000; Truist, $18,000; UGI Utilities, $1,000; UPMC Health Plan, $13,000; Weis Markets, $5,000; and Yocco’s, Inc., $2,500.

The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. Established in 2001, the EITC and OSTC programs award tax credits to businesses that make contributions to approved Scholarship Organizations, Pre-K Scholarship Organizations and Opportunity Scholarship Organizations. Camp Via and Lehigh Children’s Academy are approved for these programs.
