Join Us for a Spectacular Farewell to Summer Festival in the Heart of Emmaus!

As the warmth of summer winds down and the promise of fall fun approaches, the Emmaus community is gearing up for a remarkable event to bid adieu to the sunny season. The annual Farewell to Summer Festival is set to take place on September 16th from 11 AM to 3 PM at the picturesque Emmaus Triangle. This event promises a day filled with vibrant festivities, local businesses, crafters, food delights, art activities, and a chance to celebrate the community. From thrilling children’s activities to music, to a robust schedule of events, the festival is a true haven for the community to come together and create unforgettable memories.

The Farewell to Summer Festival has become a cherished tradition in the Emmaus community, and this year’s edition is primed to be even more unforgettable. “We’re sad to see summer go, but we’re excited to come together for one last hurrah before the autumn season begins,” said Hayden Rinde, Emmaus Main Street Manager and Assistant Vice President of Affiliated Chambers. “This event has always been about celebrating our community and showcasing the incredible offerings of our local entrepreneurs and organizations.”

Highlights of the Farewell to Summer Festival include:

  • Local Artisans and Businesses: Explore a wide array of booths featuring local artisans, crafters, and businesses. Discover unique products that capture the essence of Emmaus’s creative spirit alongside local business organizations committed to community engagement.
  • Delicious Food Trucks and Beverage Options: Indulge your taste buds with a diverse selection of food trucks offering a variety of culinary delights. From savory to sweet to thirst-quenching, there’s something for everyone.
  • Scarecrow Trail: Throughout the day, the Scarecrow Trail will wind its way through our main streets, inviting visitors to explore and experience local businesses, restaurants, and artisans in a unique and fun way.
  • Chalk the Walk with the Emmaus Arts Commission – The Emmaus Arts Commission will provide a sidewalk “canvas” for all ages to participate in this family-friendly art competition. Participants will have 3 hours to use sidewalk chalk to create their masterpiece based on this year’s theme, “My Favorite Summer Activity.” At the end of the competition, community judges will review all submissions and choose top three art pieces.
  • Live Music from Wicked Alibi
  • Face Painting by Funtastic Faces and Body Art
  • Family Movie at Emmaus Theater; presented by Edward Jones
  • Scheduled Activities: In the Triangle and along Chestnut Street, this event will host Children’s story times, a Tie-Dye station, a martial arts demonstration, Meet and Greets with your favorite local mascots, and so much more.

While the kids are having a blast, parents and caregivers can also partake in the festivities, perusing local artisanal offerings and savoring delicious treats. The Emmaus Heritage Society will also enhance the day’s experience, hosting their Annual Heritage Festival at the Emmaus Historical Society. Shuttle trips to the historic properties in Emmaus will provide a glimpse into the community’s past, creating a wonderful opportunity for families to bond over history.

Large community events like these would not be possible without the support of local organizations and partnerships with our event sponsors. Farewell to Summer Festival Entertainment Sponsor and local business B&B Custom Pools shared their excitement about this partnership and their affection towards community events like these. “At B&B Custom Pools, we love being located right on the triangle in Emmaus.  We feel very connected to the local community, and we look forward to the opportunity to meet more families and have fun during the Farewell To Summer Festival” stated Timothy McNair, Chief Financial Officer of B&B Custom Pools. “ Fall is always an exciting time for us as we transition from summer service/construction into fall/winter design and planning. See you at the festival!”

Mark your calendars for the Farewell to Summer Festival on September 16th from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Emmaus Triangle. Whether you’re looking to Chalk the Walk, shop, savor delicious food, explore the Scarecrow Trail, or delve into local history, this event promises an experience that will leave you with fond memories and a sense of community spirit.
