The United States Fistball Association (USFA) is seeking U18 Female Athletes
for the Youth World Fistball Championships

Youth Worlds LogoThe USFA is currently looking for U18 female athletes to represent the United States at the Youth World Fistball Championships in Nurnberg Germany to be held July 20-24, 2016.

Upcoming tryouts are being held on Saturday March 12th, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Roxbury High School Gym. 1 Bryant Dr, Succasunna, NJ 07876. Please email Bob Feid (bobf2@optonline.net) to register for the tryouts by March 8, 2016.

Fistball is similar to Volleyball in many ways so experienced Volleyball players are able to learn the rules and technique of Fistball much quicker, however, any U18 female interested in participating is welcome.  All female athletes born during 1998 or later are qualified to make the u18 female Fistball team. Outdoor practices will start in Spring 2016, the u18 team will be practicing in Flanders, NJ, home of the Swim and Sport Club.

Fistball is a very exciting and fast paced team sport consisting of 5 players on each team.  Similar to how Volleyball is played, Fistball also allows 3 individual touches using either closed fist with a bounce allowed before each touch.   As in Volleyball, when receiving a serve from an opponent, the idea is to save, set and spike the ball back into the opponent’s half of the field.

USFA President, Bob Feid played a key role in bringing the Fistball Pan American Fistball Games to New Jersey during August 2015 and is committed to expanding the sport giving young people more opportunities for competitive play. With the recent growth of Fistball in the area, this is a great opportunity for young athletes to experience this International event and represent the United States as part of the National Team.

The USFA has participated with men’s and women’s teams in international play for several years competing on the World Championship level. Fistball has been played at the Swim and Sports Club in Flanders since they moved to Roxbury in 1938 and has had many players as both the Men’s and Women’s US National Teams.
