The annual fundraiser will return to DeSales University to support the education of children with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.

BETHLEHEM, P.A. (August 29, 2023) – Mercy School For Special Learning will hold its 33rd Annual Mercy Dream Gala in person at DeSales University on Saturday, October 7, 2023, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

“Each year, we are honored to celebrate the accomplishments of both our students and staff with the entire Mercy family at our Dream Gala,” said Beth Grys, principal of Mercy School For Special Learning. “None of this would be possible without the constant support of our sponsors, who year after year prove their dedication to Mercy’s mission to help our special-needs students reach their full potential.”

Paul Acampora

Paul Acampora, Executive Director of Stewardship and Development at the Diocese of Allentown, will serve as the gala’s Master of Ceremonies, and the evening will feature live entertainment by Mercy’s Magical Movement Dancers, as well as food stations, a wine and beer open bar, a silent and live auction, and more.

Ercole “Erc” Spinosa

This year’s Angel of Mercy award recipient is Ercole “Erc” Spinosa. Beginning in 2018, Spinosa has worked with the development staff at Mercy and opened up countless opportunities for the school to thrive, including:

  • the purchase and assembly of push-carts, refrigerators, freezers, and shredders;
  • donation and installation of a playground basketball hoop;
  • introducing productive new vendor partnerships;
  • unveiling prolific new donor relationships;
  • sponsoring pizza lunches;
  • and buying coffee gift cards for the faculty.

Mercy thanks the following for supporting this year’s Gala: CAI, The Topper Foundation; Air Products, the Straccia, Matt, and Lieberman Families; and Lynne and Jim Finnegan.

Tickets for the gala can be purchased online for $135.00 each. Registration is required by September 23, 2023.
