Local executives will gather on October 12 to share insight and collaborate around this year’s summit theme, “From Intention to Impact: Advancing Equity & Belonging from the C-Suite.”

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (September 7, 2023) – LINC, a nonprofit organization that helps employers advance Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategies in the workplace and community, in alliance with Lehigh Valley Partnership, announced today it will host the second Lehigh Valley Inclusion Summit on Thursday, October 12, 2023. This year’s summit is being held at the Olympus of the Americas Corporate Headquarters in Center Valley from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The invitation-only event is specifically tailored for local leadership, with the goal of fostering a culture of equity and inclusion in the greater Lehigh Valley community. The theme for 2023 is “From Intention to Impact: Advancing Equity & Belonging from the C-Suite,” and will include a CEO keynote panel, workshops, breakout sessions and networking opportunities.

“It’s our hope that attendees of this year’s inclusion summit will take home with them best practices and approaches that enhance employers’ efforts to attract and retain an increasingly diverse workforce,” said Katelyn Mack, president of LINC.

Tyrone Russell, CEO of FACES International, will moderate a CEO panel featuring Vince Sorgi, president and CEO of PPL Corporation; Jean-Claude Dubacher, chairman and CEO of B. Braun of America Inc.; and Kassie Hilgert, president and CEO of ArtsQuest.

LINC has partnered with three local leaders committed to the organization’s DEI initiatives and creating a more inclusive region. This year’s Lehigh Valley CEO Co-Champions are Dubacher, Sorgi, and Rich Wuerthele, president and CEO of Crayola. Under Dubacher’s leadership, B. Braun is committed to tapping into the Lehigh Valley’s deep social diversity to grow its talented workforce. As CEO, Sorgi has underscored his tenure at PPL Corporation by creating a more diverse and inclusive work culture, resulting in more diversity at the leadership levels and attracting top talent to the company. Wuerthele is passionate about fulfilling the Crayola brand mission of helping parents and educators raise creatively alive children. Crayola strives to create products that allow children to fully and authentically represent themselves and the world around them through creativity and self-expression.

“Creating a culture where equity and inclusion are embraced starts at the top,” said Dubacher. “As leaders, we need to constantly promote an environment that nurtures belonging and celebrates the many differences that make us who we are.”

The event also features two breakout sessions. The first one is titled “Your Role in Fostering a Culture of Inclusion and Belonging,” with attendee second session options: “Inclusive Hiring,” “Foundations for Equity & Belonging,” and “Sustaining & Deepening Commitment.”

The summit will convene influential leaders in the region to explore means of promoting equality and inclusivity. The gathering will encourage collaboration and the creation of plans capable of bringing about long-lasting change in the community.
