Nothing like an Old Fashioned Christmas to ignite the Community of Emmaus’ Holiday Spirit

Lehigh Valley, PA – Date:  November 13th, 2023  Santa Claus is coming to town, along with a slew of other holiday fun this December! The Emmaus Main Street Partners, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Kelly Car are excited to present the beloved Old Fashioned Christmas celebrations from 4:00 to 7:00 on December 2nd. This free community event will transform the Borough of Emmaus into a holiday wonderland, ensuring our town is filled with cheer this holiday season!

“This is one of the most rewarding times of the year for the team and me, being able to bring the holiday spirit alive in our communities!” stated Jessica O’Donnell-Gower, Executive Vice President of the Affiliated Chambers of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “We hope everyone will join us to celebrate the season together as we transform Emmaus into a classic small Christmas town on December 2nd”.

Beginning at 4:00, guests will have the opportunity to:

·       Interact with local non-profit organizations offering activities such as letters to Santa, Christmas Luminaries, a Snow Ball toss competition and more

·       Meet Santa’s Reindeer thanks to our friends at B&B Custom Pools

·       Marvel at the craftmanship of a live ice carving demonstration thanks to our locally owned McDonald’s

·       Enjoy live performances from local organizations thanks to our entertainment sponsors Burkholder’s HVAC

·       Meet and greet beloved holiday characters like Elsa and Buddy the Elf, thanks to Holiday Characters Sponsor, Embassy Bank

Santa and Mrs. Claus join in the evening’s celebrations at 5:00 after a trip around town in a big red sleigh, borrowed from the Emmaus Fire Department for the special journey. It takes a lot of extra hands for Santa and Mrs. Claus to leave the North Pole for an evening at this time of year! Luckily, we have a ton of support from our local businesses like The Hillside School, E.F. Butz, Service Electric Internet and Cable TV, and Wehrung’s Lumber and Home Center to ensure all keeps running smoothly and allow them to spend the evening with us here in Emmaus!

After their arrival, Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be available for pictures in front of the town center Christmas tree thanks to Wesley Works Entertainment. The evening will conclude with the grand lighting of the Christmas tree, officially ringing in the holiday season for our town of Emmaus!

When asked about being a part of Emmaus holiday celebrations this year, Director of The Hillside School, Jason Seggern stated, “The Hillside School holds dear the values of community and shared joy. As one of the proud sponsors of the Emmaus Old Fashioned Christmas, we believe in the magic that happens when community partnerships come together to celebrate the holiday season. Embracing the spirit of togetherness, Hillside School is honored to contribute to the festive atmosphere and create lasting memories with our neighbors during this special time of year.”

This celebration at the Triangle is the culmination of a full day of holiday activities like the Cheers Trail sponsored by Kleckner and Sons, Candy Cane Lane, and a showing of The Grinch, which debuted in 2018, at the Emmaus Theatre thanks to Jeff McElhaney Edward Jones Team.
