What a night! There was a lot happening in Allentown, PA last night. We had WWE’s Live Holiday Tour, several Art Exhibitions, Christmas Tree Lightings throughout the Lehigh Valley. Allentown kicked off the holiday season with the tree lighting at Arts Park. A lot of people came out to enjoy the sights, do some shopping, and check out some of the surrounding restaurants. The Allentown Police were keeping traffic under control, and people safe.

People were lined up for everything from the beautiful Horse drawn carriage rides. The horses are stunning. There were quite a few food vendors. The ASD (Allentown School District) performed holiday songs. Santa himself arrived via fire truck. Families lined up for photos with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. Everyone was feeling the spirit, and mother nature decided to cut the rain. The countdown to the tree lighting was beautiful. The Allen High School dance team was in attendance and performed. Dieruff High School’s choir sang.

It was a great turn out and The Allentown Chamber of Commerce was onsite. They did have some of the streets blocked off for the crowds, and the horses. I also found out that the Repertory Dance Theatre will be performing The Nutcracker at Miller Symphony Hall on December 2nd & December 3rd. It will be the Allentown Symphony Orchestra with Ronald Demkee, conductor.

There is also a party bus that goes to Lights in The Parkway every Friday and Saturday. I met a nice group who were getting ready to go. They were all decked out in holiday gear, Grinch pajamas and more. It was great to talk to everyone. From November 24th to December 30th the party bus runs. Tickets are $25.00 and you can check The City of Allentown Facebook page has the link listed.

It was a beautiful celebration and nice to see the community together. Happy Holidays to everyone.
