New Initiatives and Changes Announced at Carbon Transit

Allentown, PA (CT-012424) — Technology, fares, routing, and Senior IDs, are among the initiatives and changes at Carbon Transit beginning January 29th. The announcement was made by AJ Jordan, Director of Planning and Scheduling at LANTA, which manages Carbon Transit.

For the first time transit riders in Carbon County will have real-time bus tracking and fare-paying capabilities with the use of several apps. The free apps, available on IOS and Android devices, include Transit, MyStop, and Google Maps.

Seniors can ride CT Bus and CT Flex for free with their Pennsylvania Senior ID card. https://lantabus.com/lanta-senior-citizen-id-card/

CT Bus, which runs two fixed routes in the county, will now only board riders at established bus stops, eliminating pickup by flagging down a bus driver.

Carbon Transit is also making two minor route changes in Lansford and Lehighton, including service to LVHN in Lehighton. Information is available at www.carbontransit.com.
