It was a partly sunny day Sunday, a big breath of relief that there was no rain in the forecast, for everyone who looked forward to the annual St Patrick’s Day parade in Allentown.  Friends, couples, and families lined the parade route, many dressed in green to celebrate the day.  Children brought bags and baskets with the anticipation of collecting candy treats.
There was no shortage of Irish pride, for Allentown, this parade is in it’s 65 year with over 2,000 participants. Marching bands, the beloved bagpipes, floats, Girl and Boy scout troups,  plus many companies, organizations, unions, schools, and groups walked the route sharing the celebration.
This year’s crowned King and Queen, Ken and Susan Walsh rode in a horse drawn carriage.
