Bethlehem, Lehigh Valley, PA, April 10,2024 – ArtsQuest’s Summer Art Camp and Summer Art Classes at the Banana Factory now being offered in a variety of themes, both favorites and new themes.

Summer camp at the Banana Factory offers eight weeks of fun and engaging art-making classes and activities for children and teens ages 4-18. Over the course of the week, campers will experiment with a variety of materials and processes and create projects designed to teach campers fundamental skills in art. All while encouraging each student to express themselves creatively and in their own style.

Studio Intensives are designed with teens and pre-teens in mind. With intensives like Hand-built Pottery, Cartooning and Anime, Digital iPad Animation, Fashion Design and Illustration, Hot Glass, Mural Arts and so much more, older campers (ages 10-18) have the opportunity to explore mediums in greater depth. With multiple intensive options to choose from each week, your teen or pre-teen can focus on making art that interests and challenges them.

Join us this Sunday, April 14 at 12:00 p.m. for our Summer Camp Open House. This free opportunity allows families and prospective campers to visit the Banana Factory, meet some of our Teaching Artists and get a feeling for what a day at summer camp is like.

ArtsQuest’s Summer Art Classes present a wide variety of visual arts classes for all ages and skill levels, including family and adult classes. Our ceramics and Paint Like Bob Ross classes are community favorites, and with couples in mind, we even offer Date Night Experience classes including ceramic mug making and wheelthrowing. We are excited to bring back the Pinhole Photography Day Workshop where attendees will strip photography down to its very basics. You will make your own camera, create photographic images and learn how to develop your own photos in the darkroom. Pinhole photography is the ultimate analog photo process, and it’s full of wild creative possibilities. It’s also a great first step into the world of film photography and darkroom work.

Welcoming our newest teaching artist, Emma Ryan who is a Papermaker and mixed media artist, students will have the opportunity to learn more about recycled materials in artwork, collage, hand-bound books and recycled papermaking. Class prices vary depending on the medium and materials used. For more information on summer art classes, visit www.bananafactory.org.

ArtsQuest welcomes everyone to participate in summer camp and classes regardless of financial circumstances. Scholarship assistance is available for those who qualify based on financial need. Financial aid is awarded on a sliding scale based on need. Please submit scholarship applications no later than June 3, 2024, in order to use your scholarship towards Summer Art Camp.

All Banana Factory Summer Art Camps and classes are now on sale! To register for camp, go to https://www.bananafactory.org/classes/summer-camps/ and click on the right age group for your child to see what intensives are being offered when.
