Lehigh Valley, Pa – Join the FUN!  Boys and girls ages 8-15 (as of 1/1/24) are invited to attend 4-H Camp.  4-H Camp is part of the beautiful Seven Mountains Scout Camp in Spring Mills, PA. The $400 registration fee covers lodging, meals, medical insurance, workshop materials, and transportation to and from the camp. An additional $30 covers 4-H membership and can be used for other great 4-H opportunities.

4-H Camp, June 24th – 28th, 2024 will be a week of fun!  What do we do at camp?  Meet new people, learn about nature, make a craft, play human foosball or Ga-Ga, participate in campfires, swim at the pool, and lots more!  Our theme for the week is “Energy Avengers” which includes special workshops related to the Power of Water, the Power of Wind, and Power Protectors of Renewable Energy.

The facility consists of two cabin areas, each with multiple bunk beds, indoor toilets, and common sitting area.  Campers of similar age and gender will be housed together.  Trained counselors will be housed in cabin areas and will supervise all activities.  A camp director, 4-H Youth Development Extension staff, nurse, and adult volunteer chaperones will be always present.

Why do campers return to 4-H Camp? “To connect with old friends and meet new people.” “For the Campfires,” “for the crafts,” “for the sports!”

Why do parents send their child to 4-H camp? “I send my kids to camp to meet new people and enjoy face to face interactions (as opposed to engaging each other through social media/text messages). The camp experience empowers kids to make their own decisions. As parents, we often take care of many daily responsibilities for our children without even thinking about it. Camp allows each youth to step up and realize their potential in a safe, supervised environment. Camp gives kids the chance to enjoy nature without the distractions of our digital world.”

If you are interested in this camping experience for your child or for more information on 4-H, please contact the Lehigh County 4-H office at (610) 391-9840. Registration can be made by visiting https://4h.zsuite.org/event-registrations/20638.  Registration is due May 7, 2024.

Administered in Pennsylvania by Penn State Extension, 4-H is a community of more than 6 million young people across America learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills.
