ASD PAL 6th Grade Basketball Championship Slated



 

 

The proud tradition of PAL basketball has been extended to the sixth grade level for the first time ever. Sixth grade students from Raub Middle School and Harrison-Morton Middle School will face off in the Sixth Grade ASD/PAL Boys’ Championship Basketball Game beginning at 4:00 p.m.; followed by the Girls’ Championship Game featuring Raub Middle School against South Mountain Middle School at 5:00 p.m.

Location:       Dieruff High School Gym, 815 N. Irving Street, Allentown

Special guests for the event include Allentown School District Superintendent, Dr. Russell Mayo and Bill Holler, Chairman of PAL.

The event is sponsored by the Police Athletic League (PAL), whose purpose is to stimulate, create, provide and maintain wholesome recreational facilities and activities for youth throughout the City of Allentown, thereby improving the moral, physical, educational and civic standards of youth. PAL promotes friendship, fairness and good will among youth and develops a respectful and friendly relationship between youth and the Allentown police officers.

The purpose of this organization shall be to stimulate, create, provide and maintain wholesome recreational activities for youth-male and female-throughout the City of Allentown, Pennsylvania and thereby; improve the moral, physical, educational and civic standards of youth; promote friendship, fairness and good will among our youth; and stimulate a respectful and friendly relationship between youth and police officers. Every year, the Allentown Police Athletic League continues to provide sports camps and activities throughout the Allentown area.  From basketball leagues, to bowling, to Camp Blue-line, to scholarships PAL creates an environment which promotes healthy sportsmanship for today’s youth.
