Valley Preferred Cycling Center releases June promotional schedule

TREXLERTOWN, Pa. – The month of June boasts competitive and Olympic-caliber racing with the 2016 World Series of Bicycling season opening up with four UCI nights in the first three weeks. Aside from the racing, the promos will make T-town a Friday night destination.

Friday morning Valley Preferred Cycling Center Executive Director Marty Nothstein, with Events and Communications Manager Juliann Masenheimer, released the promotional schedule for the World Series of Bicycling for the month of June.

Headlining and kicking off the month is a post-race fireworks show, presented by Schmoyer Funeral Home, Trexler Funeral Home, and the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, the same presenters of 2015’s season-ending fireworks extravaganza.

“I’m extremely excited to have the Schmoyers and their funeral homes back for 2016 and presenting another fireworks show for our fans,” Masenheimer said. “I heard nothing, but compliments from everyone after last year’s show, so we had to have them again.”

While watching the show, fans can enjoy a taco as the popular food truck, Take a Taco, will be in the plaza all night long. Also, live music will be provided by the band One Louder!.

It all will be revved up for the second week with the Lehigh Valley Corvette Club bringing a fleet of dazzling cars to the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. Live music will be provided by solo artist Ian Gallagher and there will be pedal car races for prizes.

June 17 is Wing Fling in T-town with wing specials at the Breakaway Café. Additionally, Rick Michaels, the host of the morning show on 99.9 The Hawk, will host a wing eating contest where the winner will win a Weber Grill, courtesy of Bell Ace Hardware.

The very next night is Family Night as Red, Red Robin’s mascot will be in T-town, and El Sistema from Miller’s Symphony Hall will be providing live music.

Wrapping up the month on June 24 is German Night as there will be Oktoberfest themed fun for fans. Also, Uncle Paul’s Stuffed Pretzels food truck will be parked in the plaza.

“June is shaping up to be a great month in T-town,” Nothstein said. “The racing is going to be a great way for our riders to begin preparing for the Olympic games in Rio and these promos are right on par to bring more excitement to the track in an Olympic year.”
