Lehigh County 4-H Branches and Blossoms Gardening Club Welcoming New Members!
A 4-H club is a group of children led by caring adult helpers who use fun activities related to gardening and plants to help children learn life skills to become competent, caring, and contributing citizens. A 4-H club is a Lehigh County 4-H group formed specifically to engage youth in their local community through 4-H projects, community-based service projects, and fun activities with other kids their age! Any Lehigh County youth (ages 8-18 as of January 1, 2025) that are interested in participating in a gardening or plants club are welcome to join.
The Branches and Blossoms Club will meet starting Monday April 28, 6:30-8:00 pm. At our first meeting our 4-H teen will lead activities as we learn about the 4 seasons and plants that thrive in each. Our second meeting will be June 6 (due to Memorial Day), planning for the 4th Monday of each month. The meetings will be held at the Lehigh County Agricultural Center on Dorney Park Road where we have access to many garden spaces to visit. Prior experience with 4-H is not expected! The club will include lots of fun, hands on activities related to growing conditions, gardening options, pests, tours, field trips, and speakers from the Penn State Master Gardeners. Come see what makes 4-H the best and largest youth development program in the nation. We are 6 million youth strong!
If your child is interested in joining, please contact Kelly in the 4-H office at 610-391-9840 or kmb26@psu.edu. You can register your child for 4-H by visiting https://4h.zsuite.org/ and choosing Lehigh as the county.
