Congressman Mackenzie Invites High School Students to Participate in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition



Congressman Ryan Mackenzie, representing the Greater Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania’s 7th District, is happy to announce the 2025 Congressional Art Competition, held in partnership with the Baum School of Art. This annual event provides high school students across America with the opportunity to showcase their artistic talent and earn well-deserved recognition for their creative work.

“The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity for young artists in the Greater Lehigh Valley to share their talents and have their work displayed on a national stage,” said Congressman Mackenzie. “I encourage all eligible students to participate in this competition and represent our community. I look forward to seeing the talent and creativity of our local young artists!”

The winning piece from the competition will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, where it will be seen by thousands of visitors from across the country. Additional entries may also be recognized and exhibited locally.

Key Dates & Submission Information:

  • Artwork Submission Drop-Off: March 24 – March 29, 2025
  • Drop-Off Location: The Baum School of Art, 510 W. Linden Street, Allentown, PA 18101
  • Exhibition Dates: April 7 – April 12, 2025

Accepted Mediums Include:

  • Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.
  • Drawings: colored pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastels, charcoal
  • Collages (must be two-dimensional)
  • Prints: lithographs, silkscreen, block prints
  • Mixed Media: use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, watercolor
  • Photographs
  • Computer-generated art

Teachers and school administrators are encouraged to share this information with students who may be interested in participating.

About the Congressional Art Competition:
The Congressional Art Competition, established in 1982, is a nationwide event that allows high school students from all 50 states to demonstrate their artistic abilities. Each year, Members of Congress sponsor the competition in their respective districts, with winning pieces displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year.
