International Riders Arrive in Lehigh Valley Ahead of First UCI Event of the Season: Festival of Speed This Friday
Breinigsville, PA — Cyclists from around the globe are arriving at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center (VPCC) as the first of three UCI Class 2 international races kicks off this Friday, June 13, with the highly anticipated Festival of Speed. This event marks the start of the VPCC’s 2025 Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) series, bringing Olympic hopefuls and elite athletes to the Lehigh Valley for world-ranking points, national pride, and thrilling head-to-head action under the lights.
This summer’s three-part UCI race series includes:
- Festival of Speed – Friday, June 13 at 7:00 PM
Featuring the Keirin and Elimination Race – The Keirin is a high-speed, tactical sprint race where riders follow a pacing motorcycle before launching into an all-out battle for the finish over the final laps. The Elimination Race—also known as “Devil Take the Hindmost”—drops the last rider across the line every two laps until only one remains.

Featuring the Mike Walter Madison, Becky Quinn Points Race, and Keirin – Mike Walter was a junior elite rider when in 1978 he was struck while riding by a drunk driver paralyzing him. Becky Quinn is a former elite level cyclist and many time Rider of the Year at the Velodrome.

- Danielle Van Niekerk (South Africa – Bike Works p/b Fred Beans): Multi-time African Continental Champion.
- McKenna McKee (USA – Team Novo Nordisk) Current US Women’s Sprint & Keirin Champion
- Kim Zubris (USA – Star Track): 5-Time US National Champion
International Men:
- Liam Trepte (Trinidad & Tobago – TEAMBSR): Caribbean contender and National Champion
- Dylan Day (New Zealand – Star Track) Elite Sprinter
- Will Munday (Great Britain – Star Track)
- Noah Mandow – (Bulgaria – Star Track) Born and raised in Germany, Noah holds dual citizenship with both Germany and Bulgaria. Collegiate National Sprint Champion
- Finn Koller (USA – Edge Cycling): Elite sprinter and current Rider of the Year points leader.
