Live Jazz, Prohibition-era Cocktails and Dancing in a 1920s Atmosphere Highlight Chic Affair Oct. 23 at Hotel Bethlehem
BETHLEHEM, PA–Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites (HBMS) and Historic Hotel Bethlehem invite you to don your flapper dresses and fedoras for a night of hot jazz, delicious food and dancing during the Bootlegger’s Ball at the iconic Historic Hotel Bethlehem Oct. 23, 6-10 p.m. Tickets for the event, which revives the glamour and decadence of the Jazz Age, are limited and on sale now at HistoricBethlehem.org. Cost is $99, or $85 for HBMS members.
During the Bootlegger’s Ball, Hotel Bethlehem — built in 1922 — will transform into a 1920s speakeasy, featuring Prohibition-era cocktails paired with a menu of timeless 1920s classics, including canapés and deviled eggs, that are sure to delight. Guests will also swing to the music of Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society, an award-winning swing and jazz ensemble known for their authentic 1920s sound, vaudeville influence and playful theatrical touches.
Guests are encouraged to come dressed to impress — as a darling flapper, dashing gent or part of a dazzling group — with prizes awarded “Best Dressed Flapper,” “Best Dressed Dapper” and “Best Dressed Couple/Group” contests. A few ‘surprises’ are also planned as well.
Bootlegger’s Ball tickets include admission to this fully immersive 1920s experience, food and two bar tickets; additional drinks will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit HBMS’s historic preservation work and educational programming for the community.
As part of this special evening, Historic Hotel Bethlehem is also offering a special room rate of $229 (regularly $269) for all Bootlegger’s Ball attendees. Reservations can be made by calling 844-282-9706.
The Bootlegger’s Ball is made possible in part by support from the Jones Adult Fund. For more information on HBMS and the Bootlegger’s Ball, visit historicbethlehem.org. Additional details on Hotel Bethlehem, the No. 1 Historic Hotel in the nation, are available at hotelbethlehem.com.
