2025 Pennsylvania State 4-H Horse Show

HARRISBURG, Pa. (October 23-26, 2025) – More than 650 youth from over 50 counties competed in the 65th Annual Pennsylvania State 4-H Horse Show, held October 23–26 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center. Riders qualified through county and district shows to participate in 82 performance classes, representing over 1,400 entries.

The State 4-H Horse Show is the capstone competition for Pennsylvania 4-H horse members enrolled in performance horse projects. Events included showmanship, horsemanship, equitation, pleasure, over-fences classes, driving, reining, western riding, trail, and timed events. The Equestrian with Disabilities division also offered opportunities for riders with special needs.

Congratulations to Lehigh County 4-H member Parker Haydt of Walnutport who placed 1st in Pleasure Horse Driving class with his horse Skipa Star Goer!

Team Horse Power, a statewide youth leadership initiative, provided hands-on educational clinics during the event. Returning and new members were recognized for their service to the 4-H program, including Lehigh County 4-H member Parker Haydt for his second year serving on this team.

Champions received custom Wendell August Forge pewter plates, champion ribbons, and embroidered jackets. Reserve champions were awarded gift certificates generously donated by Perri’s Leather. Major sponsors included The Pennsylvania National Horse Show, PW Wood & Son, Inc., Perri’s Leather, Tory Leather Company, C&M Pine Products, Penn State Animal Science, and the PA 4-H Horse Program Development Committee.

Pennsylvania 4-H programs develop leadership, horsemanship, sportsmanship, and life skills in thousands of youth statewide. Administered by Penn State Extension in all 67 counties, Pennsylvania 4-H is part of a national network serving more than six million youth across the United States.
