ALLENTOWN PROMISE NEIGHBORHOOD 3rd ANNUAL RESIDENT BLOCK PARTY
TO COINCIDE WITH SUMMER LEARNING DAY TOMORROW

ALLENTOWN, PA – May 11, 2016 – Allentown Promise Neighborhood will host its Third Annual Resident Block Party in conjunction with the kick-off event for Summer Learning Day tomorrow, Thursday, May 12 from 4-7 pm on Turner Street between 8th and 9th Streets in front of Central Elementary School.

Held in partnership with United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley’s Summer Learning Coalition, the free Resident Block Party brings APN residents together with local public service agencies and features a “Keep the Ball Rolling with Summer Learning” theme.

Information tables from more than 30 local nonprofit groups will be featured as well as music, games for children, and other entertainment. It will be held rain or shine. Parents can sign the Summer Learning Pledge when they sign up their children for summer learning activities.

Event highlights include:

  • DJ playing music
  • Dunk tank
  • Games
  • Food truck
  • First 100 registered attendees receive a free icee.
  • Attendees who get their passport stamped at each partner information table will be entered in drawing for FREE raffle prizes.

Event sponsors are Habitat for Humanity Lehigh Valley, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Community Action Development Committee, and Upside Allentown.
