BOSTON IS MUCH MORE THAN A FEELING

One of the best parts of Musikfest is the array of talent that hits the main stage. Tuesday night, Boston performed, and has been out on the road promoting their fortieth anniversary.

For some bands, whose catalog spans over several decades, find it necessary to update their hits adding a touch of today’s sounds does not hold true for Boston, it’s played just as it was then, and packs a heavy punch much stronger than the turntable, without the scratches.

The packed stadium, along with the fans lining the streets outside, heard all the power hits that made this band famous and adored. “Smokin’”, “Foreplay/Long Time”, “We’re Ready”, “Piece of Mind”, “Something About You”, “More Than a Feeling”, “Don’t Look Back”, and the song which added popularity to the girl’s name, “Amanda”.

Fans were also treated to a great light show and computer graphics added to the large screen set on the stage.

The crowd often rose to their feet, screaming with joy and perhaps a bit of nostalgia each time the leading guitar lines belted out the intro to these classic songs. While fans of this band now span several generations, the audience was mainly comprised of those who grew up with this music back in the mid to late 70’s. It was a great trip down memory lane, to a time when many of us were teenagers and dealt with our own angst of growing up, falling in love, and finding our own path.
