ALLENTOWN GOES RED 5K SCHEDULED

The Allentown Department of Parks & Recreation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter are teaming-up next month for the Allentown Goes Red 5K & Fitness Festival.  It will be held in Cedar Creek Parkway on Saturday, September 24.

Pre-race day registration is $25. The race will step-off at 4pm.  There are age group awards for men and women in the following categories: under 12, 13-20, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.

At 5pm, Obe Roundtree and Trainers from Full Circle Training will be facilitating a 45 minute boot camp on the field for anyone who is seeking a full body workout. The boot camp fee is $10.

The Billy Bauer Band will perform at 6pm.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the society’s mission to find cures for blood cancer patients and ensure access to treatments.

More than one million Americans are living with a blood cancer.  Every three minutes one person in the United States is newly diagnosed with a blood cancer.
