Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center Announces 2017 Community Leadership Awards Honorees



 

Awards Celebration Planned for October 17
at Orefield’s Willow Tree Grove

Allentown, Pa. – Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center today announced the recipients of their 2017 LGBT Community Leadership Awards, which are scheduled to be presented to the honorees at the organization’s Fall Gala on October 17, 2017 at Willow Tree Grove in Orefield.

This year, the organization will honor:

  • Deborah Rabinsky in recognition of her pro-bono participation as a member of the design team that assisted in preparing The Center for its opening, and for her continued leadership as Curator for The Fine Art Galleries at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center
  • Mark Stanziola, Esq. in recognition of his pro-bono participation in the LGBT Legal Clinic at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, his philanthropic support of numerous LGBT organizations in the Lehigh Valley, his leadership as a member of the Board of Directors of Pride of the Greater Lehigh Valley, and his professional career as a family law attorney with expertise in LGBT family law.
  • Rachel Zane in recognition of years service as faculty adviser to the Gay Straight Alliance at William Allen High School, and in recognition for her leadership as chair of the GSA Adviser Coalition at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center.
  • OraSure Technologies, Inc. in recognition of their early capital support of Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, their philanthropic support for organization working against AIDS, and for development of products that have made HIV testing easier and more accessible.
  • Turning Point of Lehigh Valley in recognition for their strong organizational partnership with Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, their commitment to providing culturally-appropriate service to LGBT clients and their overall work to support victims of domestic violence in the Lehigh Valley.
  • Stonewall Lehigh Valley in recognition for their fundraising efforts in support of numerous LGBT non-profit organizations in the Lehigh Valley for many years

In addition to the honorees, national LGBT movement leader Kate Kendell, Executive Director of National Center for Lesbian Rights, is expected to join the celebration as keynote speaker.
