ALLENTOWN RESCUE MISSION, Allentown – Mission’s Meatball time is here! Volunteers are needed for the 15th Annual WAEB Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, October 14th at Asbury Church. Volunteers are also needed to donate home-made baked goods and donate cans of Coca-Cola products. BETHLEHEM SPECIAL OLYMPICS is in need of a Public Relations Coordinator to be responsible for communications to establish and promote favorable internal/external relationships. Preferred qualifications include excellent organization/communication skills, familiarity with media organization in local area, and the ability to work cooperatively with volunteers. Meet new people, make new friends, and provide Lehigh Valley seniors with a lifeline to medical appointments, grocery stores, or to visit a loved one in a nursing home. MANITO LIFE CENTER, Allentown offers therapeutic riding to both children and adults with special needs and disabilities and needs volunteers to help with riding sessions. Volunteer roles include side walking, horse handling, grooming/tacking up, general horse care before/after session, and tack cleaning/prep before and after session. SENIOR CORPS RSVP of LEHIGH, NORTHAMPTON & CARBON COUNTIES is looking for Literacy Corps volunteers to work with individual students or small groups of students in helping them to be better readers. THE CARING PLACE, INC., Allentown needs volunteers for Special Programs: Making Thanksgiving Food Baskets for Needy Families from 10am-3pm on Saturday, November 18th; Wrapping Christmas Gifts in December, and Christmas Party on Thursday, December 14th. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield needs volunteers to help with animal care, ground maintenance, feeding, watering, and clean up for all animals (small, large, and some exotic). VALLEY YOUTH HOUSE, Bethlehem provides counseling services to youth and their families and needs volunteers to assist in providing additional services in coordination with the VYH service provider.
