Marvine Takes A Stand with a Pledge

All students took a pledge in helping Marvine become a bully free school!

Teachers read the pledge out loud to students in their classroom and students drew hands with their names to put up in the lobby demonstrating their commitment to help build a bully free school. Working together for excellence in school climate!

Marvine Elementary School at Target Store

Every year for the past 5 years an anonymous donor gives $25 to each student in the third grade to shop for their families at Target. After their shopping, tables are set up to help wrap their presents. Students returns to Marvine expressing their joy of being able to buy gifts for their family. What a lovely way to start the Holiday Season!

Eye on Elementary:

The Bethlehem Area School District has 16 elementary schools, all in different locations, but all giving the same first class education. Every few weeks we focus on a new school and take a minute to show you what makes the school the special place that it is.

Today we take a look at Lincoln Elementary with principal Benita Draper.

Healthy Tip from Michelle Martucci, RD, LDN

Dietician for Bethlehem Area School District

Be patient and positive! Making changes takes time. So if your family is used to unhealthy foods, but you’re looking to make a change to healthier habits take it slow. Introduce new healthy foods and habits slowly and with a lot of positive attitude. Celebrate even small accomplishments!

Baseball Umpires Needed

Bethlehem Umpires Association (BUA) is actively taking applications for baseball umpires! Whether you are an experienced umpire, or looking to break into the game as a rookie, we have the appropriate level for you.

We offer a competitive level of play for all levels of experience and the opportunity to umpire throughout the greater Lehigh Valley area. Our organization officiates over 1500+ games for Little League, Travel Teams, Connie Mack, Youth Legion, and LVMSBL (Men’s League) from April until November.

Take your passion for sports and turn it into a part time avocation that will enable you to give back to the community. We accept members starting at 16 and offer education, training and mentorships to improve your skills and obtain higher level games as you gain more experience.

If you are an experienced umpire and you would like to try to get involved in a group we would love to hear from you.

We meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month from February through September, contact us today through our website (www.bethump.org) or email us at bethumpassoc@gmail.com for more information! We look forward to speaking with you soon about umpiring for the BUA.
