FREE ADAPTIVE FITNESS CLASSES AND INCLUSIVE SUMMER CAMP FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation is offering free Adaptive Fitness Classes and an Inclusive Summer Camp for Allentown youth. The programs are open to Allentown residents under the age of 18 with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The programs run from mid-June through the beginning of August.

The Adaptive Fitness Classes will include a 9:00am Martial Arts Class and a 10:00am Boot Camp on Tuesdays from June 23 to August 5 at Cedar Beach Park.  The classes will also be held Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm & 7:00pm at Cedar Beach during the same six week period.

Both programs will be staffed by instructors with Special Education certifications. The classes will be structured and have a 1:3 instructor to student ratio.

The Inclusive Summer Camp will be offered at Percy Ruhe Park in Allentown alongside Allentown’s Summer Playground Program on Fridays from 9:30am-11:30am from June 19 through July 31.

Space is limited in both programs.  Pre-registration is required and forms are available at www.allentownpa.gov/parks.
