United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley Announces 2017-18 Award Winners



 

UWGLV will present awards at Annual Celebration of Caring Event on April 18

Allentown, PA, March 28, 2018 – United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV) announced the award recipients for this year’s 2017-18 campaign awards, recognizing individuals and corporations who excelled in their contribution to the community through giving, volunteering and advocating. UWGLV will present awards on Wednesday, April 18 at DeSales University in Center Valley.

The 2017-18 award recipients include:

 

Air Products – LIVE UNITED Award

Presented to an organization/company whose engagement in the Lehigh Valley community results in a significant contribution toward improving the quality of life for those in need.

St. Luke’s University Health Network – Campaign Chairman’s Award

Presented to a company that has demonstrated leadership and innovation in conducting its United Way campaign and an ability to increase awareness about United Way’s mission and vision.

Miller-Keystone Blood Center – Air Products Leonard Pool Impact Award

Presented by Air Products, the award recognizes a non-profit organization that demonstrates commitment to community leadership, stewardship of community resources, active volunteer engagement, and improves lives.

IBEW Local 375 – Labor Achievement Award
Presented to an individual member or team from organized labor that actively and regularly supports our community organizations by moving people to action through volunteer service, positively impacting our community.

ASR Media Productions – Community Building Award
Presented to an individual or organization that supports United Way in its community-building efforts, encourages cooperation, contributes talents and sustains partnerships. 

Mike Molewski – Campaign Volunteer Award
Presented to campaign volunteers who demonstrate outstanding leadership, use United Way best practices and make every effort to help the campaign succeed.

Trisha Higgins – Carbon County Champion Award

Presented to a Carbon County resident, business or organization that demonstrates outstanding community leadership and supports United Way’s efforts to improve the quality of life for people living and working in Carbon County.


Maeve Yanes TeenWorks “Making a Difference” Award
Presented to recognize the TeenWorks “Project of the Year” conducted by local teens and funded through a TeenWorks grant. Projects are accomplished throughout the Lehigh Valley and make a difference in our communities, as well as the lives of the young people who perform the service.

Valerie Lane – Women United “Betsy Torrence Philanthropist of the Year” Award

Presented to a Women United member who is active in the community, is a philanthropic leader in the Lehigh Valley and demonstrates a personal commitment of time, talent and treasure to the best of her ability. 

The event will be hosted by Emmy® Award-winning executive producer and president of ASR Media Productions, Ashley Russo, and feature Mike Kelly and Steph Wells of B104’s Mike & Steph in the Morning.
