PBS39 to Host “A Community Conversation on the Future of Allentown”



 

Allentown’s Government Officials and Community Stakeholders Join PBS39 to Discuss the Uncertain Future of the City

Bethlehem, PA – April 18, 2018 –  PBS39 continues community outreach initiatives by presenting “A Community Conversation on the Future of Allentown”.  This special, live presentation will take place in the studios at PBS39 in Bethlehem, and will be broadcast on PBS39 and streamed live on the PBS39 website and Facebook page on Tuesday, April 24th at 6:00pm.  Monica Evans, executive producer and on-air personality from PBS39, will host the event and act as moderator.

The panel for this public forum will include several Allentown government officials including Ray O’Connell, Allentown’s Interim Mayor. Joining him on the panel will be Charlie Thiel, Allentown School Board President; Roger MacLean, Allentown City Council President; and Rep. Peter Schweyer (D – 22nd District). A second panel representing the business and community stakeholders of Allentown will include Rev. Dr. Larry D. Pickens, Ecumenical Director of the Lehigh Valley Conference of Churches, Dan Bosket, Director of the Community Action Development Corporation of Allentown, and two others yet to be confirmed.

During this public forum, members of the studio audience will be allowed to ask questions of the panel members, while television and online viewers will have an opportunity to ask questions through a variety of online platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and the website at PBS39.org.
